The Phoenix Journey

1 Peter 5:10 The God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast.

It all started with a symptom I could not ignore.

I received a diagnosis that no one wants to hear. Just like many who struggle with autoimmune diseases, my doctor was unable to give me a sure resolution and I didn’t have much hope as this was permanent.

My condition continued to get worse and after finding myself in a wheelchair and showing 30 out of 31 symptoms, I needed a change. So I researched. AND researched and researched. I found my answers in prayer and books written by medical professionals.

What I found was a lifestyle regimen with examples and proof of that works for most* autoimmune diagnoses. I followed the steps with intensity. I depended on my resources of the people I knew in the community for their services and encouragement. My journey is a journey for life but I wouldn’t trade it because I’m now running, jumping and maintaining a normal life. Without this regimen- not exactly sure where I would be.

It’s like a PHOENIX rising from the ashes And I want to share this JOURNEY with you!

The Ascent

Date: April 1, 2023

Time: 8:00 AM- 12:00 PM

Address: Generation Park 250 Assay Street Houston, TX US 77044

The Ascent is a 5K + Fun Run/Roll/Push brought to you by The Phoenix Journey.

The Phoenix Journey is a Non-Profit group determined to encourage, educate and support those effected with an autoimmune disease of any kind along with the friends and family.

If you or someone you know is affected by autoimmune disease, you know some days are better than others, and some are just bad.  But each person shows courage day by day making the decision to face the challenges of the ascent for that day.

The 5k will be a standard 5K race comprised of multiple laps through the beautiful Generation Park.  This will be a Chip Timed event and awards will be given to the Top 5 Male and Female Finishers

However, this is not like any fun run you have probably done before, because you (YES YOU!) set the finish line.  There will be finish lines every 100 yards and you get to choose which one you can Ascend to based on your journey that day.  If you can make the Ascent to show up and make it to the first 100 yards, you get to celebrate YOUR Ascent  If you can make the Ascent for the entire length, you get to celebrate YOUR Ascent.

The important thing is to show the courage and determination needed as an effected person, a caregiver, a family member, or friend to make your ascent and be celebrated.

The time limit for the Fun Run will be 1 hour
