My Story:
My story started almost 10 yrs ago with a fundraiser. I learned to make cake pops in 2014 to raise funds for the children’s ministry , my sister in law and I where in charge of that ministry at that time, and thankfully we hit our goal and raise the funds needed by selling cake pops. Later that year I gave my co worker some cake pops for her birthday and my supervisor saw the cake pops and asked me if I sold them. I wasn’t selling but I did say yes to the cake pops that she wanted and that was my 1st order. Next thing you know I was selling cake pops at my job. I decided to take it this cake pop thing a little serious got a DBA called “Sweet Creations by Claudia” and starting placing adds on Facebook market and this became my side business for the next 8 yrs while also working a 9-5 job as an Administrator/Accountant of 1st Choice Drywall. My day time job became my school and I learned how to run a business. I’m considered food cottage business here in the state of Texas. My dream was to open a cake pop store in 2020 and then covid hit and I felt like my dream was crushed, but I didn’t give up. I did a lot of praying for guidance and wisdom on what to do next. After some time the idea came to go mobile and I purchased a van and transformed it into “The Cake Pop Wagon”, registered my business as a LLC S Corp. I launched this new adventure in Jan 2023 and resign from my 9-5 job as an administrator to pursuit my dream. I still have so much to learn but in the meantime I get to live my dream. I’m all about given back, I learned this at a young age by seeing my Mom’s example. In January after my one year anniversary I launched a fundraiser to provide lunch for prisoners which thankfully we were able to raise. My 5 year goal is to have a fleet of my cake pop wagons selling cake pops all over Texas I believe in giving back and blessing others and my business is helping me achieve that. I’m thankful to God for given me the gift of baking, wisdom and keeping me humble.
