FOOD VENDORS: READ THIS BEFORE YOU SET UP ???????

I do not handle food permits. The Health Department does.

Kingwood Town Center Park is privately owned and is not a City of Houston park. That means you must contact the proper authority (City of Houston Health Dept or Harris County Public Health) to confirm your jurisdiction and obtain the correct Temporary Food Permit for your setup.

        🔗 Official info (start here):
        https://www.houstonhealth.org/services/permits/food-permits/temporary-food-permits

        What you need to know

        • Do I need a permit? If you ask me, my answer is always YES.

        • Who requires it? The Health Department—not The Livable Forest.

        • Who do I call? Call the City or County Health Department to confirm which office has jurisdiction for your operation and how to apply.

        • What happens if I don’t have one? If an inspector comes by and you’re not permitted, that is your responsibility. You may be shut down and/or cited.

        Your action steps

        1. Review the official page above.

        2. Call the appropriate health department (City of Houston or Harris County) and confirm your jurisdiction and permit type.

        3. Apply and secure your Temporary Food Permit well before event day.

        4. Bring proof of your permit on-site and comply with all health requirements.

Please do your own due diligence and follow whatever guidance you receive from the Health Department. The Livable Forest does not issue or approve food permits and is not responsible for vendors operating without them.

Thank you for handling this professionally. 🙏

        Temporary Food Permits

A temporary food permit may be issued only if the temporary food service establishment is part of an "event" or "celebration.

And fyi this is only for those who are doing food on site. If youre a cottage vendor you do not need one if youre following the rules and regulations of cottage law. All of our items must be packaged at our homes with proper labeling and our items must be not ones excluded. Cant wait to see everyone this weekend.

?@Tiffany? no worries I know alot of new cottage vendors have started doing markets and get confused. With the new laws for cottage updated it still gets a little lost in translation sometimes.
