Experiencing a storm like Hurricane Beryl really puts into perspective what truly matters. This past week was tough, especially with the extended power outage. We were fortunate, however, to have the support of my brother and sister-in-law, who generously welcomed us into their home for a few days. Their kindness allowed us to stay safe and comfortable during a challenging time.
Our kids had the chance to bond with their cousins, and without the distraction of electronics, we rediscovered the joys of simpler pastimes. We played board games, spent more time outdoors, and connected with our neighbors in ways that reminded me of my own childhood in the ’90s. Despite the difficulties, these moments brought us closer together and highlighted the importance of community.
We feel blessed and thankful that God has been watching over us. His presence has provided comfort and strength throughout this ordeal. While many are still facing the hardships of power outages, I am deeply grateful for the spirit of camaraderie and support from friends and family. We are all trying to help each other through this, and it’s heartwarming to see such solidarity.
If anyone needs assistance, whether it’s washing clothes or anything else, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I continue to pray for our community, and I am praying for everyone still affected by the storm. I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the linemen working tirelessly, many of whom have traveled from other states to assist our community. Your dedication and hard work are truly appreciated.
